Evidence 1: Cosmo Creative Writing Podcast
Student Story Project Link to Student Story Recorded on the Cosmo Podcast

Rationale 1: Creating both teacher and student podcasts is a great way to communicate with the students. Showing the students that I am open to new methods of instruction gets them involved and motivated. For creative writing, I created the Cosmo Podcast, which outlines fun writing exercises. Episode 1 outlines the “Pick 4” activity. I had my students listen to the podcast first; they then completed the writing exercise and read their stories to the class. The class voted on the top two stories. The student with the best paper read her essay in Episode 2 of the Cosmo Podcast, and the student with the second highest amount of votes introduced the episode. There was great pride in the classroom when Episode 2 was presented to the class through my iTouch in stereo sound.

KSD:
6.K.4 The teacher recognizes the importance of nonverbal, verbal and media communication techniques.
Podcasts are a fairly new media communication device. Using them in my classroom proved to be a very effective method for communicating activities required in class, as well as the students completed projects.

6.S.2 The teacher supports and expands learner expression in speaking, writing, and other media.
Both expression in speaking and writing is supported by using Podcasts in my creative writing course. Students gained knowledge by listening to my recorded voice, and they implemented that information into their own recordings.

6.D.2 The teacher values many ways in which people seek to communicate and encourages many modes of communication in the classroom.
As the evidence shows, digital communication is used in my classroom. Students have been addicted to digital devices as modes to communicate, so incorporating these types of methods into their learning promotes their language development.
